"The unexamined code isn't worth writing."-T. Caddock. I'm a big fan of Socrates. I'm teaching an intro to Python class right now. We allow/encourage AI. For me code is just cryptic English. The juiciest part of coding is how you organize code. The students are required to create a document that explains code in their own words. It's really easy to tell if this doc used AI. I think descrbing your own work in your own language is key to learning. I always documented my code. Over time this practice became outdated because it was just more text to maintain. I still write about and draw pictures of what I'm doing for myself. Standing up and explaining code is another way to be sure that the developer understands what they've created. Socatres would approve of more human dialogue regarding coding.
